Another week, another Google update! This time it’s a new tool for Google My Business called Small Thanks with Google.
This new tool utilizes existing customer Google reviews and highlights your best Google reviews by automatically creating a poster that you can print for your business, send in an email campaign, or even feature on your website.
These generated posters are free, easy to use, and are another reason to encourage clients to leave reviews on your Google My Business listing. You can start with the pre-selected reviews, or choose from a set list of your top reviews to create a customized poster. Then you can export for use in your design campaigns or shared directly to Facebook, Twitter or Instagram. It takes less than five minutes to get an awesome looking design.

How do you use this? Well, there’s no API so posting it to your social media outlets can’t be automated as of now. They have a “Share Poster” option, but we never could get it to work. You also can’t choose the exact review phrases you want, just whatever Google thinks is relevant. Basically, Google has done some of your graphic design work for you and each business will have to use it like any other asset.
It’s worth noting that constantly self-posting content online that sings your own praises can turn people off on social media – no one likes businesses that constantly talk about themselves. Every business will have to decide how to use these.
